Halloween Dance & Costume Party
All Saint's Day
- This Friday
November 1st
Live Band - Big Foot with Dave Stone (special appearance)
"Oh, my," said the strange woman hanging about under an old lantern. "Here I thought it was weeks away and all I have to wear is this ragged, soiled, see-trough night gown and no shoes to match--shoes??? I don't even have feet--but I'll be there moaning my beautiful, little head off!"
As always, your Pacific Ski Club has gone all out for this event. The location, housed between two graveyards in Delta, has spectacular views of the dark night, eerie lights providing limited guidance should you venture to walk the paths where the spirits of past saints and people of good will once trod. One blessed ghost will be riding an ancient British two cylinder motorcycle. Others will rise up as on the second coming, standing in their cages, their white bones not yet clad in human flesh, fog at times obscuring your vision.
Friendly scare crows stand in silence, smiling at those who pass by as darkness falls, only moving to the gentle winds that blow up from the distance Pacific Ocean.
A live band plays somewhere inside the aging mansion, a home inhabited by the present owner for 50 years, undaunted that it is haunted by the man who had the home constructed 4 years earlier to the purchase.
Few of us can see into the future like the present owner, a published writer who completed The Bizarre Conclusion of Dr Leopold in 1995 and wrote about the pandemic which came upon mankind, COVID19, 'in the second decade of the 21st Century...'. A crystal ball can, indeed, be found in his library downstairs. Only those who have the power can hear the words spoken. All most humans hear are the sounds of the vortex which spins within the globe.
A pirate's fare of sea biscuits (gluten free crackers), meats, both hot and cold, plundered from ships destined for tables in Spain, Germany, Hungary, and English colonies, along with rare and aromatic cheese will fill platters on a long oak table which a saintly count once owned. Vegetables a dips will not be wanting.
For those carnivores who crave more meat (like bats) and who are not afraid to wander paths which lead to an outdoor grill, may find the tools required, or may even find someone willing to cook their food (unlike bats). Finger food and tasty snacks, will be available through the evening.Dress as a fairy, a queen or a king--come as a playing card--let your imagination be your guide.
Prizes: Best original costumes, best pair, and even worst costume (possibly more) will be awarded on the dance floor with the band in attendance.
Price: $10.00 members; $20.00 non-members* Note: must be accompanied by or with a member.
Time: 5:30 pm music starts a bit later -- last song of the official set(s) at 11:00 pm -- acoustic music may breakout afterward.
Location: Pacific Ski Club Members will get a mail-out. Non-member friends of the executive can call their executive member or the PSC President: 778-996-3451
Tables and chairs provided - do not bring your own lawn chair(s), please.
Fire Pits & heaters will be on so the outdoors will not be too cold. Most of the fun is inside the home.
